Ognyan Georgiev Simeonov has a master's degree in "Political Economy – Sociology". He is a holder of an academic doctorate – "Dr. of Economy, scientific speciality – Social Management". He is a Professor in the Department of Financial Control at the University of National and World Economy (UNWE), scientific speciality – Accounting, Control and Economic Activity Analysis. He has a diverse background in the field of financial audit as he has been a lecturer in Financial Control and Auditing. Before taking his current position as the chairman of the Commission for Public Oversight of Statutory Auditors (CPOSA), he has been one of its Members. He chaired the Audit Committee to the Agriculture State Fund. He acted as a member of the Audit Committees of the Bulgarian Energy Holding, the Ministry of Finance, and the Commission for Audit Quality Evaluation of the Bulgarian National Audit Office.
